🎓 Thousands of new teachers join Andalusian classrooms
This summer, Andalusia experienced a veritable marathon of competitive exams for teachers. Nearly 8,000 positions were offered across 47 different specializations, and 7,370 people have already secured permanent teaching positions. Most will begin working as tenured civil servants on September 1st.
📍 The most striking thing: 96.7% of those who have obtained a place are Andalusians, and many were already working as temporary staff.
📚 In specializations such as Primary Education, Music, English, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education, all places have been filled. There have also been full enrollments in Secondary Education subjects such as Language, History, Biology, English, and Economics, and in more specialized subjects like Piano, Cello, Classical Dance, and German.
However, it hasn't all been perfect. 571 positions remained unfilled, primarily in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Philosophy. It seems there's a shortage of qualified candidates in those fields.
📝 Regarding the exams, more than 38,000 people took them. 52% passed the written part, and 47% passed the practical part. In the second phase, the numbers were better: more than 90% passed the programming section and 84% passed the teaching unit.
