access to university

The Andalusian Studies Centre (Centra) has conducted a survey prepared for the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation, to analyze how citizens perceive access to university.

70% of students believe that university entrance exams should be the same throughout Spain and want factors other than high school grades or university entrance .

majority of those surveyed think the cut-off scores are too high, while 12.6% believe they are low.

Regarding the range of degree programs offered , more than half of those surveyed (55.3%) believe that Andalusian universities have a sufficient selection of degrees.

One in four respondents believes that students' professional skills and abilities should be the primary criterion for university .

The Regional Ministry of Universities, Research and Innovation commissioned this study to incorporate its findings into the university strategy and future legislation for Andalusian universities.

The fieldwork was conducted in March of last year with nine focus groups and 2,400 online interviews (1,218 random and 870 within the university community).
